Liberated Luggage- 2026
A permanent installation for the PDX Airport International Arrivals corridor.
Liberated Luggage addresses the urgent question, "What if your baggage got to Oregon before you (and is having a really good time)?" The landscape is a panorama of Oregon's nine ecoregions, from Coast Range to Great Basin, with vignettes representing PDX's international destinations, as well as tributes to the ways Oregon's Indigenous and immigrant communities have shaped its landscape.
This 6-by-36-foot work was fabricated in hand-painted glass at Glasmalerei Peters Studios in Paderborn, Germany. Metalwork by Specialty Metal Fabricators in Portland, and electrical by Gracie Electric of Portland.
